Silly season is in full swing, but news has remained surprisingly quiet around Old Trafford. No new speculation to report. Matt James has been recalled from his loan at Preston North End, Kiko Macheda is looking forward to his loan, and Nani wants to be invincible. The big news today is not in the papers though; a certain Ecuadorian winger has reached an important milestone on his return from a long-term injury.

There are also reports that Wigan would request Gabriel Obertan on loan should Tom Cleverley be recalled.
