United once again had to launch ‘project comeback’ against QPR at the weekend – results meant that United would go into the midweek games top of the league despite a far from convincing season thus far. Opponents, West Ham, have had a very good start to the season, aided by a kind fixture list. They shouldn’t be taken lightly though, Big Sam has a knack of getting the most out of players and knows how to grind out the points. We welcome comments from both sets of supporters.

Manchester United and West Ham meet for the 123rd time in their history at Old Trafford on Wednesday. United last played West Ham at home two seasons ago, when United won 3-0 and the last time the two sides met was in the 4-2 victory at Upton Park, when Wayne Rooney was subsequently banned for swearing into a TV camera. West Ham are currently 8th in the league and are doing far better than the other two promoted teams, Reading and Southampton, so far this season. Here we look at team news and a potential United lineup.

As always, we welcome comments from both sets of fans.

We’re fast approaching the time of the year when the Academy kick-start their FA Youth Cup campaign. United’s record in the competition is unparalleled – 14 finals with 10 trophy wins. Having lost in the semi-finals to last year’s winners, Chelsea, with a young squad, expectations will once again be high this year. Burnley, who also reached the semi-finals last year, visit Old Trafford on Friday 7th December.

Manchester United again came from behind to claim all three points at Old Trafford against bottom club QPR. United went 1-0 down to a Jamie Mackie strike, before relying on Evans, Fletcher and Hernandez to finish the game. We were lucky enough to have a great ‘view from the opposition’ in our QPR match preview on Friday, which you might find interesting. Here we discuss the Talking Points from the match and welcome comments from both sets of fans.

Nick Powell has been tipped for Manchester United success by Darren Fletcher

Author: Stretford_End

Nick Powell, Manchester United’s summer signing from Crewe Alexandra, has been praised by teammate Darren Fletcher following an impressive performance away in Turkey against Galatasaray. United lost the game 1-0, however Powell’s quick feet and range of passing was on show for all to see. Many Reds have suggested that United are crying out for centre midfielder and Powell could very well be that player if nurtured right. The youngster scored on his debut in the 4-0 victory over Wigan earlier this season.

Man City went top at lunchtime on Saturday as Chelsea lost at West Brom. It meant that United knew they’d have to win at Carrow Road to ensure they ended the weekend as the league leaders. Norwich had famously beaten United at home in 2005 and this season they’d conquered Arsenal – despite what the TV pundits thought, this was never going to be a simple victory for the Reds. We welcome comments from both sets of supporters.
