There’s something a little bittersweet about going to watch United play in the pre-season. On one hand it’s fantastic to see the team you’ve supported since you were a boy in the flesh, yet on the other it’s a completely different level of intensity to what you usually see from the comfort of your living room, and therefore can position itself as a potential let-down.

Short Changed? Why Do You Need An Autograph?

Manchester United have played to full houses again on their tour of the USA and the players look fresh and sharp as they go through the usual tough pre season.

Just like any other tour that a Premier League team undertakes, the players have been interacting with the fans and sponsors to show a positive face of what is now a global giant of a club.

It appears some fans in England though are none too pleased about this and are feeling short changed about the ‘access’ that the club allows players on these tours.

Do these people have a point when it comes to player access?

Why Two May Go Into One Goal This Season

It’s a brave new era at Old Trafford this season, the loss of Van Der Sar as established number one has left as big a gap as when Roy Keane or Cristiano Ronaldo moved on.

The big money signing of David De Gea would suggest that he is the future for Manchester United between the sticks but this season could see a genuine battle for the starting spot at No. 1.

Gabriel Obertan – It’s Now or Never

Is Gabriel Obertan good enough to be a Manchester United player?

In the words of Elvis ‘It’s now or never’ for the French wingman in what is approaching his third season as a Manchester United player.

Obertan has shown flashes of class and brilliance in his time since signing in July 2009 but after two full pre seasons he’s had time to adapt and develop to the Manchester United way.

The whimsical transfer window and bitter disappointment

Sneijder

AUTHOR: – Stretford_End

“Wesley Sneijder’s mum has been spotted in Marks and Spencers buying Manchester United underpants!” or “Luka Modric was seen eating a pickled egg walking down Didsbury” are just two of the things you may well hear (well maybe not exactly hear) in this loopy time known as the summer transfer window. Yes, it is the time clubs up and down the country throw out their old players onto the scrap heap, whilst dreams of a shiny new player (usually foreign) is seen galloping towards you on the horizon. What isn’t there to love about the transfer window? Speculation! Gossip! But most of all – utter bollocks!

The rise of social networking sites has seen the rise of the ITK trend. You know, the guy that knows a guy that knows someone who knows another person who once delivered a chicken tikka masala to the cleaning lady of Ryan Giggs’ mums friend – who has a source close to the club. How dare the agents of today command a fee when those good ITK folk are doing all of the negotiating for you! Here we address the highs and lows of the transfer window and look at some of the players that ‘got away’ over the years.
