There’s a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of Paul Pogba at Manchester United. And that uncertainty has increased following the most recent developments.

According to several reports, Pogba would be “pushing” to not return to Manchester United once he recovers from his nagging foot injury. The Frenchman has been out since September 30th this year, but he is expected to return to action in the coming weeks. The minor detail is that Pogba would be against playing for the Old Trafford outfit again.

Pogba has been linked with a move to either Real Madrid or Juventus. Reportedly, he would be open to join each of those two teams as soon as the chance arises. United must take a stance here. And if Pogba does not want to play for United again, then why would he be forced to do so?

The 26-year-old midfielder has not been able to live up to his price tag since returning to Manchester United a few years ago from Juventus. He is one of the most expensive midfielders in the world, but he is not the game-changing player he should be. Especially considering his physical and technical attributes.

Pogba has been good this season, but…

Manchester United are undefeated when Pogba is on the pitch this season, with four wins and two draws. He has two assists over that span, both against Chelsea. There’s no question he is a top player, but United have replaced him accordingly. Scott McTominay has risen to be one of the team’s most important players. Meanwhile, both Fred and Andreas Pereira have played better in recent weeks as well.

United has been better with Pogba out there. But his tendency to disappear in big games, his poor attitude and the fact he doesn’t want to play for the team anymore should make him expendable. No player in the world should be bigger than a team.

Pogba has fallen into that category with his attitude, and he is becoming a distraction even he’s not playing. That should be enough reason to part ways with him if the chance arises. At the very least, United would be able to recover some of the money they spent on him.
