Manchester United did a big thing with getting Alexis Sanchez to sign for them. That almost certainly meant the club will not be making any other moves in the market in the final week of the January transfer window.

However, the squad is an ever-evolving thing and the board and staff should be preparing for the summer. Which are the five players Manchester United should look at from now until the end of the season?

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

First up is the big Serbian. Sergej is a 6′ 3” tall central midfielder with plenty of energy going in both directions, technical ability and explosiveness in his displays. He is only 22 and has a lot of space for improvements, but already now is taking Europe by the storm. Milinkovic-Savic’s skillset is very rare and he could complement Paul Pogba and fellow countryman Nemanja Matic really well. Also, he is a typical Jose Mourinho player!

Stefan de Vrij

Another player from Lazio. De Vrij is the Dutch centre-back who has been improving in recent years quite constantly. He is quite good on the ball, even though that is not the first thing you would expect. His positioning in a slightly chaotic style of Lazio’s play is really good and could be a good signing for improving options at the heart of defence.

Layvin Kurzawa

The PSG left-back has not been playing as much as expected. Kurzawa played just over 900 minutes in Ligue 1 this season, as Yuri was more often chosen for the starting lineup. That might not mean anything, but the Frenchman could be in a similar situation in the next four months. If that happens, United would be smart to look into him in order to solve problems at left-back.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Serie A is quite popular these days, is it not? Kalidou Koulibaly is Napoli’s centre-back who plays a vital role in their fluid attacking system. Therefore, it is not a surprise that Koulibaly is very good on the ball. He completed 90.5 percent of all passes attempted and he can also switch to playing it longer when necessary.

Koulibaly would be a good option, especially if Napoli fail in their pursuit of the Serie A title. That might be the end of this team’s hopes of finally winning the league and Senegalese centre-back could be tempted to leave. Him and Eric Bailly would seem as a good Premier League partnership for years to come, as Koulibaly is 26 years old.

Paulo Dybala

And then there is La Joya! The Jewel, as his nickname goes, is Juventus star player but Manchester United already managed to get one Juventus star player couple of years ago. It would be tempting to see Dybala playing alongside Pogba once again, but also playing next to Alexis Sanchez and creating chances for Romelu Lukaku.

Dybala has not been playing as much football this season as it was expected and something has been happening behind the scenes in Turin. If there is even the slightest chance of the Argentine leaving the Old Lady, Manchester United must do everything they can to snatch him. At 24, he could really grow into the world class player of his generation. His qualities are all well documented.
