Beyond The Pitch and Stretford-End.com have come together once again to record another podcast, the ninth in the series. We have another bumper episode this week with two more special guests, Pete Boyle and Steve Bower. We chat about current United stories (NB this was recorded before the Hazard saga concluded); discuss singing and FC United with Pete Boyle; and with Steve Bower we reminisce about the last 15 years of United.

Topics covered:

Hazard, Kagawa and Baines

Recorded before Hazard chose Chelsea, we discuss three players linked to the club and try to work out where they’d fit in and how likely they are to join.

Pete Boyle

Pete Boyle is a very familiar name to United fans – the man behind most of the songs, often found singing pre, during and after matches. We ask Pete about the divide in the city between United and FC United – Pete did try FC United but found it wasn’t for him. Pete’s also very involved with the singing section so we chat to him about why its been delayed and the reasoning behind it. Our thanks to Pete for his time and apologies for any poor sound quality.

England Youth

We had a few young players representing England’s U19s – a couple of them were on the scoresheet and one was captain. Find out who they are!

Steve Bower

Former MUTV commentator and presenter, Steve Bower, spoke to us at length about his time at United. We chat about everything from the treble season to Fergie to Crerand to that famous Roy Keane interview that was never aired. Thanks to Steve for giving us half an hour of his time – believe me, this interview could have gone on for much longer!
