Manchester United are about to finish another year. The 2017 has been quite good for the fans, as the club won two trophies, Europa League and League Cup, and the team showed some improvements in the new season. United will play Southampton on Saturday which will be their final outing in 2017.
That means that the January transfer window is just around the corner. The transfer talk never stops with Manchester United, but with the opening of the transfer market, it will only increase. In recent days there have been some usual names linked with United. Antoine Griezmann was one of them, though it seems unrealistic for the Devils to chase him. Ryan Sessegnon was another one, while the Gareth Bale story never seems to end. It has been “on” for years now…
But there are some new names, or the names that were not mentioned as much, in recent days. Here are the top three and our verdicts on them.
Manchester United Reportedly Chase Jorginho
Jorginho is Napoli’s central midfielder who caught the eye of the public by his impressive displays for the Partenopei. His on the bal skills are of the highest quality, making him a player who controls the rhythm of the match from deeper areas. How good of a passer he is and how important to Napoli shows the fact that he completed the most passes of all Serie A players this season. And he only played in 15 out of 18 Napoli’s matches.
He is also good at making interceptions and tackling, so him being connected with Manchester United makes sense. Whether he would be allowed to leave in January is another things. United would probably have to spend some serious money, but the most important thing would be to buy him if he was to implemented properly into the system of play. He is a special player when playing for a team like Napoli.
Andre Gomes From Barcelona
There were rumours of this before and now they resurfaced again. Manchester United fans should hope this is a false alarm. There is no evidence whatsoever from Gomes’s time at Barcelona at he is anywhere near the necessary levels for a club like United. He has been absolutely abysmal last season for Barca, and this term he rarely gets chance to play.
He is part of Jorge Mendes’ agency and they have been closely working with Man United recently. However, that might be the only link, as Gomes is simply not a player of this level.
Alex Sandro From Juventus
Another one of those players that have been gently linked with Manchester United in recent months. He has been slightly unsettled last summer as Antonio Conte was pondering about getting him to Stamford Bridge. And Alex Sandro would be one of those players that would instantly improve Manchester United.
He is quite experienced for a 26-year old and has played in Champions League finals. He knows what is it like to play for a winning side and his qualities are not only at left back, but at left wing-back as well. Sandro’s crossing ability is very good and he likes getting forward. There is consistency about his game that would make him a good asset for Man United. However, as big of a team Juventus are, they would probably be more inclined to sell him after World Cup, rather than in January.
