Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he will not be buying anyone in the January transfer window, but has stated that Federico Macheda could well go out on loan following the successful stints of Welbeck and Diouf and Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers respectfully. Many Reds still believe that United are in need of a creative outlet from midfield if indeed the club are to challenge on both a domestic and European front.

Fergie: We won’t buy in January
Bobby Charlton speaks about Fergie sacking myth

Sir Bobby Charlton has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson would not have been sacked had Manchester United lost their third round FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest back in 1990. It is widely believed that Alex Ferguson, who wouldn’t become a knight of the realm for another nine years, would not have continued as United manager had Mark Robins not found the back of the net. Thankfully for United fans and Ferguson, Mark Robins did find the back of the net and the rest, as they say is history.
Wayne Rooney thanks United fans for support

Its been quite a disappointing 2010 for Wayne Rooney having started the year in fine scoring form for United. Since his goal against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena back in March, Wayne Rooney has failed to score a goal in open play (has since scored two penalties against West Ham and Rangers). He was clearly off the pace in South Africa for England over the summer and has had troubles in his personal life. However, for United fans the biggest blow came when Rooney handed in a transfer request in October, citing lack of ambition at the club. The striker eventually signed a new 5 year contract to stay at United – however, many fans felt betrayed by the apparent flirtation with Manchester City.
Chelsea vs. Manchester United called off due to Snow

Sky Sports News have just confirmed that the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge tomorrow has been called off due to hazardous weather conditions. United have now had two postponed in December, Blackpool away was called off, due to adverse weather. Chelsea FC have released the following statement.
Manchester United draw Marseilles in Champions League draw

Manchester United have drawn French side Olympique Marseilles in the second round of the Champions League. United will play the first leg in France.
United and Marseilles have played each other twice, both times in the 1999/2000 season. The Red Devils won 2-1 while Marseilles won the return 1-0, with a certain serial tantrum artist scoring the goal.
Full reaction to follow.
Anderson contract deal: Brazilian is a Red for a while longer!

Our number 8, Anderson has signed a new long-term contract with the club today. This follows a successful return from injury and backs up Stretford-End.com’s continuing support for him when others have called for an end to his United career.
Sir Alex Ferguson playing down ‘unbeaten’ tag

Sir Alex Ferguson is no stranger to breaking records or matching records set by other clubs/managers. Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal went unbeaten in the 2003/04 season to claim their third Premier League title since 1998. United are currently unbeaten after fifteen games, but the Manchester United manager doesn’t believe his side can remain unbeaten in the remaining twenty three matches. United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford tomorrow night.
Will the cold weather give United a headache?

United’s game against Blackpool tomorrow has been called off due to a frozen pitch at Bloomfield Road. There’s little doubt that this can be spun in both a positive and a negative way. I’ll assess the impacts of this postponement on United.
United poised for huge player investment

Stretford-End.com can exclusively reveal that Manchester United have plans for significant re-investment in their squad. With Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes set to retire by the end of the 2011/2012 season, Edwin van der Sar hanging up his gloves at the end of this season, the future of Gary Neville due to be decided within the next 6 weeks, and several fringe players given until the end of the season to prove their worth, there have been private assurances to Sir Alex Ferguson that there is money available for a reshaping before he retires.
The major news, aside from the fact that investment is imminent, is that Wayne Rooney’s contract negotations proved vital to this. Many sources claimed that he wanted to leave, many wrongly claimed that a deal had been agreed, but we can state that his involvement in negotiations with the club were solely to force the owners into at least privately confirming their intentions among the players.
A little more about Lindegaard
Manchester United signed a new goalkeeper this week; rarely has a signing been greeted with such a sense of trepidation. Sure, a little excitement about our unknown quantity, but more a growing realisation that this will be Edwin van der Sar’s last season at the club. Stretford-End.com dug to discover a little more about our new acquisition, with new blogging project “False10.com” editor and Norwegian football correspondent Preben Walle.
