Varane Linked with Move to Saudi Arabia

Raphaël Varane is reportedly a target for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad, with negotiations over a potential transfer already underway. According to @nawaf__oga on Twitter, the French defender has shown ‘positive indications’ in discussions with the Saudi Arabian side. This comes after earlier speculation about Varane’s potential move to the Middle East, fuelled by efforts from former international teammates Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté to persuade him to consider a switch from the Premier League. Although initially Varane had expressed a preference to remain in Europe for this season, he might reconsider in the future. It remains unlikely, however, that Varane would leave Manchester United so soon. He is a key figure in the starting line-up when fit and plays an essential role in the team’s revival under Erik ten Hag. At 30 years old, Varane is also set to compete in the Champions League this season, a tournament he has won four times and where he will be eager to add to his impressive collection of honours with the Red Devils.

Pellistri in Talks with Sheffield United

Facundo Pellistri is reported to be in discussions over a season-long loan move to Sheffield United, according to The Telegraph. The young winger has had limited opportunities at Manchester United this season, featuring for just 18 minutes across the first two matches. With indications throughout the summer pointing towards a temporary departure, Pellistri was linked with various clubs, but United preferred he continue his development in one of Europe’s top leagues. Pellistri is now poised to join the newly-promoted Blades at Bramall Lane, a move that will offer him valuable playing time. The 21-year-old is highly regarded by United fans, who are reluctant to see him leave even temporarily. Similar to Alejandro Garnacho’s breakthrough last season, more game time will be crucial for Pellistri’s development. If successful, he could return to Old Trafford next summer ready to compete for a starting position.

Henderson Could Depart for Palace

Dean Henderson is anticipated to leave Manchester United before the transfer window closes, with Crystal Palace emerging as the most likely destination. Nottingham Forest had initially led the chase for Henderson, keen to secure him on a permanent deal following his loan spell. However, the goalkeeper’s recovery from an injury sustained in January delayed the transfer process. Frustrated by the prolonged wait, Forest opted to sign USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner from Arsenal. With Forest no longer in the running, Crystal Palace have now taken the lead in the race for Henderson. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the Eagles’ interest, and it is expected that Henderson will depart Old Trafford before the September deadline.
