Manchester United organise a poll every single month to determine which first-team member will be the club’s Player of the Month. The votes are on the club’s official app, and the results delivered Scott McTominay as the winner.

The 22-year-old central midfielder, who also won the Award during September, got 48 per cent of the votes. He topped Marcus Rashford (39%) and Daniel James (13%) to capture the Award.

The Academy graduate has been inmense for Manchester United in recent weeks. He produced great displays following the international break, particularly against Liverpool and Chelsea. McTominay’s progression has seen him perform at a higher level when the stakes are higher. He already evidenced that trait last season. Who can forget his impressive displays against FC Barcelona and PSG in the UEFA Champions League?

Plus, the 22-year-old scored Manchester United’s 2,000th Premier League goal during the victory at Carrow Road last month. You can see the video of the goal here, plus some of his best moments during the win at Carrow Road:

McTominay’s influence on the side has been noticeable as well. With Paul Pogba nursing an injury, the Scotsman has stepped up to the challenge. He has played alongside Andreas Pereira, Fred, and others in central midfield. But he remains a regular name on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team sheet week in and week out. He has earned that with hard work throughout the years.

Legends speak about McTominay’s impressive season

In fact, Solskjaer praised the 22-year-old central midfielder during a press conference last week.

Scott’s a leader, he’s a Man United boy, he’s come through the ranks, Solskjaer said. You can tell he used to be a striker with the goal he scored against Norwich on the half-turn and he’s developing into a very good midfielder.

Meanwhile, countryman and former Manchester United midfielder, Darren Fletcher, also had encouraging words for the Scotland international.

He has arguably been Manchester United’s best player this season, Fletcher told Sky Sports on Wednesday night. You have to remember, when he was 17 was about five foot seven and playing as a no. 10. He ended up growing to about six foot three now and he’s actually started to become a bit of a goal threat.

McTominay has won the Player Of The Month Award in both September and October. Apparently, the fans also feel the Scot has been the club’s best player this season.
