Man United Linked With Saul, Contract Renewals To Continue

Saul Story Comes Up

The biggest news of the day for all Manchester United fans is the story from the Spanish newspapers AS. They are reporting Man United have informed Saul Niguez’s camp about their interest in the midfielder. Saul is reportedly seen as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba if he leaves the club this summer. Whilst there are still no signs from the club giving impression that they might let Pogba go, but if that happens, Saul would be the one United would chase.

The player has a €150m release clause and considering in what kind of situation Atletico Madrid are this summer, Man United would probably need to activate it. Atleti already lost Antoine Griezmann, Rodri, Diego Godin and Lucas Hernandez and more players could be on their way out. Therefore, for them to lose Saul the Devils would have to try really hard.

Renewals Continue

We spoke about Marcus Rashford renewing his contract recently, with David De Gea and Jesse Lingard being next in line to sign a new deal. Today, there are another two players mentioned in such conversation. Axel Tuanzebe came back from his loan at Aston Villa and now Man United want to tie him up for a longer contract. The player is expected to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the first team, while Andreas Pereira is also being mentioned.

The Brazilian did not have a good season, but it looks like Ed Woodward and his associates feel he has deserved an improved contract.

Herrera Announced At PSG

We knew this months ago, but now we got an official confirmation. Ander Herrera has been announced at Parc des Princes as the latest signing for Paris Saint-Germain. The Spanish midfielder joins champions of France on a free transfer, after his contract with Man United expired.

Today, Goal reported that Herrera was asking for £350,000 per week (£20m per season) from Man United when the two sides were negotiating. The club weren’t willing to further inflate the wage bill whilst actively looking for a buyer for Alexis Sanchez in order to readdress the balance ahead of future negotiations.

This made sense. Giving a player like Ander Herrera £20m per season is more than ludicrous. However, it also made sense from Herrera’s point of view. He was in a position of strength in these negotiations, knowing that moving on as a free agent would increase his wages drastically, as his new club would not have to pay transfer fee.

Sporting President On Bruno Fernandes

And the last, but not the least, Sporting Lisbon president Frederico Varandas spoke for media about the current situation of Bruno Fernandes. The midfielder has been linked with Man United heavily in recent weeks, with some of the reports as recent as yesterday claiming that things are about to get done soon.

“It could be the most expensive sale of Sporting. The most expensive so far was João Mário, for €40m. There have been only talks for Bruno Fernandes, for now”, Radio Observer reported.

The news about this deal are coming out on a daily basis, but we still have not seen the most important news – that the player has arrived at Old Trafford.
