Pogba’s Brother On Mourinho, Man United Draw Arsenal And What Did We Learn From FA Cup?

Manchester United have won their FA Cup match against Reading and have now learned the name of their next opponent. Currently, the Devils are now in Dubai, preparing for some tough matches ahead, especially the first in that run, as United will travel to Wembley to meet Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Five wins in a row brought a new piece to Old Trafford, but nevertheless, the most intriguing part of the season is yet to come.

“Mourinho Was The Problem”

On Monday night we had the chance to hear interesting thoughts from Mathias Pogba, Paul Pogba’s brother. The Frenchman talked about the Man United star on the Vestiaire show, RMC reported. Mathias mostly talked about the relationship of his brother and former manager Jose Mourinho. He was quite firm in his views.

“Mourinho was the problem, right down the line. In the locker room, outside the locker room… everything. I know my brother, you tell him ‘go, go, play’ – the rest, he will do it”, Mathias Pogba said.

But it did not end there. He continued, implying that Mourinho could not see the benefits of having a better relationship with Pogba.

“From what we see of Mourinho, he always wants to be the maestro, the center of attention. He does not even calculate that aspect if you respect him [Pogba], he will respect you and if you trust him, he will win you big matches”, Mathias Pogba concluded.

Paul Pogba started playing incredibly well right after the Portuguese manager had left. The midfielder scored four goals and assisted another three in four matches since Mourinho’s sacking.

Man United To Travel To Emirates

On Monday night, we also found out Manchester United’s next rival in the FA Cup. And it is a proper rival, as the Devils will travel to London between 25 and 28 January to play against Arsenal. The Gunners will host Man United in the fourth round match which could give so much to both teams.

Manchester United were the ball number six in the draw and this tie will be by far the most interesting one of the fourth round. This clash will come for Man United in between their Premier League matches against Brighton and Burnley, in which United will be the hosts both times. Arsenal will have a slightly tougher schedule, especially prior to the match – they will host Chelsea in London derby, before hosting Cardiff after the FA Cup tie.

Storylines From FA Cup

What we can learn from the FA Cup third round is that this could be a really good season for a good cup run for many matches, Man United included. It is because many good times are out, most prominently including Liverpool and Leicester, but also including sides like Bournemouth.

With Arsenal or United going out in fourth round and plenty of clashes without Premier League teams in them, this means many of the lower league sides will progress to the fifth round. If United beat Arsenal, they could truly get an easier draw afterwards, making the path for the quarter finals/sixth round.
