Manchester United are a knockout in Philadelphia! – The Daily Mail

I love fun stories like this. No transfer rumors or speculation. For a fun team activity the squad ran up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, made famous by the Rocky movie series. With a season full of competitive matches ahead of them it’s nice to see them doing something fun like this. A quick break from the strenuous preseason to re-enact a famous movie scene.

United ticket sales unharmed by Glazer fears – The Daily Telegraph

I’ve been highly skeptical of the boycott for about a month now. I’ll admit I bought into it at first, but I’ve since realized that by starving the Glazers financially, we’re starving our own club. Like it or not, the Glazer and Manchester United are financially linked. I don’t want to go off into a whole tangent about this. Perhaps I’ll give it the full blog it deserves in the future.

O’Shea: Hernandez will be United’s ‘wild card’ – The Daily Telegraph

Always nice to see one of the new boys receive backing from a senior member of the squad. O’Shea thinks he’ll cause a lot of problems for defenders and I absolutely agree. Chicharito proved he has massive potential at the World Cup, but I don’t think other clubs realize just what a lethal asset we have.

Should vuvuzelas be allowed at English grounds next season? – The Daily Mirror

No. Ban them. Next story…

Ribery charged with soliciting underage prostitution – The Guardian

I haven’t heard any rumors this summer, but I know we’ve been linked with Ribery in the past. Karim Benzema has been charged with the same crime as well, and we all know that we’ve been linked with him in the past. Thankfully we never did sign either of them The two face up to three years in prison if convicted. What a waste of money that would’ve been if we had signed either of them.

  1. Totally agree re boycott. Unfortunately we are financially linked with the Glazers and the only way a boycott could “work” is by wrecking the club which surely we don’t want.

  2. I cant wait see chicharito mulling teams in the epl and scoring for fun, gona be awesome. I aint ever gona do anything to hurt my club, got my season ticket as usual, got the new shirt which love and i intend to shut my heart out, united all that matter- love the club to death. Some just dont get it and are happily willing hurt our club out pure selfishness- i often think they dont even like the club, its all about them.

  3. Very excited about Hernandez. Yes, it will take time but the premiership should suit him. He is quick, has a decent touch and a good finisher. There won’t be massive pressure on him from the get-go as he will be coming off the bench. I fully expect him to score 12-15 goals this season in all comps. Berba could come good this year too as it is probably last chance saloon at this stage to produce on a regular basis.
