Things get quieter during the international break. But since this is the last one before the end of the current campaign, it’s safe to say we might be in line for a heavy dose of transfer rumours including Manchester United players. Here are three names that could be worth watching.

Ander Herrera: is he leaving the club or staying for one more year?

Surprisingly, this is one of the news that have caught headlines over the past few days. Will we see Herrera playing for Manchester United in 2019-20? That’s hard to say. He wants to stay, but is yet yo sign a one-year contract extension. Plus, PSG are reportedly interested in making a move for the Athletic Bilbao star.

“I knew something would come out. I take it with a pinch of salt. I’m focusing on playing football in the remaining month and a half of the season. The rest I leave to my agent, both a possible contract renewal with United and talks with another club about my departure”, Herrera said. His words do not give any sort of light into what might happen. But supporters surely want the tenacious midfielder to stay at Old Trafford. Especially considering how good he’s been over the past few months.

Could Samuel Umtiti be the centre-back The Red Devils need?

The talk of Manchester United needing a centre-back has been a narrative for quite a while now. However, The Red Devils have not gotten even remotely close to acquire one over the past two years. But if recent reports are true, then the Old Trafford outfit could be near to accomplish that goal. And they could be in line to sign a world-class defender who would become an instant upgrade on the squad. We’re talking about Samuel Umtiti.

The scenario is the following. Barcelona are keen to complete a move for Matthijs de Ligt, but they need to sell at least one player in order to gain funds first. And Umtiti could be a candidate to leave the side. He’d essentially become the team’s fourth centre-back behind Gerard Pique, De Ligt and Clement Lenglet, so it might be better if they sell him. And Manchester United would certainly welcome him with open arms. Providing they pay what Barca want, though.

Memphis Depay back to Old Trafford?

This one is interesting for sure. The Red Devils have lacked a true right winger for quite a while now and when they had one, he didn’t live up to the hype. We’re talking about Memphis Depay, who’s now one of the best players for the Netherlands and is coming off a stellar international break where he registered three goals and three assists in three matches. The Lyon winger has stated he wants to play for a top club next summer, so perhaps his Lyon tenure could end soon.

Here’s the catch, though – when Manchester United sent Depay to Lyon, Jose Mourinho inserted a buy-back clause in the deal. Essentially, this means The Red Devils can get the Dutch winger back into the first-team squad for a cheaper fee than if they were, for instance, Liverpool or Manchester City. Will Solskjaer decide to pull the trigger and give the 25-year-old another chance at Old Trafford?
