Diallo Nearing New Man United Contract

Amad Diallo is on the verge of signing a new contract with Manchester United as he prepares for what could be a defining season under Erik ten Hag. Following an impressive pre-season campaign, which saw him earn a starting spot in both the Community Shield and the Premier League opener, the Ivorian winger is now set for an extension at Old Trafford. With just ten days left in the transfer window, United are eager to secure Diallo’s future despite interest from other Premier League sides. Ten Hag has set a challenge for the 22-year-old to step up and make a mark this season, after showing promise during pre-season fixtures. Injuries limited his involvement last term, restricting him to just nine Premier League appearances. However, Ten Hag remains confident that Diallo is ready for a more significant role moving forward. According to reports from CaughtOffside, United are working on a new deal for the winger amid interest from Ipswich Town, Southampton, and Everton. While other clubs were reportedly preparing bids, there has never been any indication from United that Diallo would be made available this summer. The club clearly sees potential in the winger, who has shown flashes of brilliance in his time at Old Trafford, particularly during pre-season.

Mainoo Deserving of a New Deal

Manchester United are also planning contract talks with rising star Kobbie Mainoo once the transfer window closes. The young midfielder has become a crucial part of Erik ten Hag’s side, often one of the first names on the teamsheet. Mainoo’s rapid ascent since breaking into the first team last season has caught the attention of many. This summer, Mainoo’s performances earned him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the later stages of Euro 2024. Although the Three Lions fell short in the final against Spain, Mainoo’s role in the tournament was noteworthy. United will be keen to build around the 19-year-old, as he looks set to be a central figure at Old Trafford for years to come. According to Sky Sports, United will offer Mainoo a new deal once the transfer window concludes. Though Mainoo is already tied to a long-term contract running until 2027, with an option for an additional year, the club plans to reward him for his consistent performances. Negotiations are expected to be straightforward, with Mainoo’s camp reportedly relaxed about the situation.

Man United Confirm Pellistri Departure

Manchester United have confirmed the departure of Facundo Pellistri, who has joined Greek side Panathinaikos on a permanent transfer. The move was officially announced by the club, as the Uruguayan winger looks to begin a new chapter in his career in the Greek Super League. The Athletic reports that Panathinaikos agreed to pay an initial fee of €6 million (£5.1 million), with up to €2 million in add-ons based on Pellistri’s future performances. The move to Greece sees Pellistri reunite with coach Diego Alonso, who managed him at the 2022 World Cup during his time in charge of Uruguay. Pellistri joined United from Penarol in 2020 following a recommendation from Uruguayan legend Diego Forlan. Despite two loan spells at Alaves and a brief stint at Granada last season, he never fully established himself at Old Trafford. Pellistri featured for Uruguay at the 2024 Copa America earlier this summer, but now looks forward to continuing his career in Greece.
