Manchester United have been quite busy sending players on loan during the current transfer window. And they have done it once again on Deadline Day.

The Red Devils already loaned Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan, and Chris Smalling to AS Roma. But a third Red Devil has left the side to complete a Serie A switch. This time, it was Matteo Darmian. The flamboyant right-back has sealed a move back home to join Parma.

According to several reports, the former Italy international has joined Parma on a four-year deal. He wasn’t expected to have many first-team opportunities under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Darmian had played only 13 times for the club since December 2017 and his contract was due to expire in 2020. Throughout his career, he went on to make 92 appearances for the club after arriving back in 2015.

The defender scored only one goal – a sublime volley against Crystal Palace in 2016, in a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford – in his time with the club.
