Things will be different for Manchester United during this off-season. Let’s forget about the International Champions Cup on the United States. Now the club will undergo some sort of “worldwide tour” during the pre-season ahead of the 2019-20 campaign. Per the official website, the club has announced five pre-season matches on Tour 2019. The venues will be Australia, China, Singapore and Wales.
The first two fixtures will be at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. The Red Devils will kick things off facing local side Perth Glory on Saturday, July 13. Then, they’ll take on English rivals Leeds United four days later. The clash against Leeds United could very well happen again during the 2019-20 season. Of course, Marcelo Bielsa’s men must secure promotion at the Championship level first. But that seems quite realistic.
But the club recently confirmed three more matches against top sides. They will take on Inter Milan at the National Stadium in Singapore on July 20, and then they will collide against Tottenham Hotspur at the Hongkou Stadium on July 25. Both games should become huge revenue sources for the club since Manchester United are undoubtedly the most popular European team in the Asian region.
Last but not least, The Red Devils will close things out against AC Milan. That match will be at the Principality Stadium, in Cardiff, on August 3rd. It certainly won’t be an easy Tour 2019 for The Red Devils. They could very well face three Champions League opponents before the season even started.
Tickets for the games against Perth Glory and Leeds United are already on sale on the club’s official website. The ones for the upcoming three matches will soon become available.
