Besiktas Confirm Bailly Signing

Eric Bailly has completed a permanent move to Besiktas from Manchester United. The deal, confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, sees the Ivorian defender depart Old Trafford after seven years at the club. Bailly’s transfer was swiftly announced on Monday night via a Besiktas Twitter post. The 29-year-old leaves United after 113 appearances, during which time he helped the club win the League Cup, FA Cup, and Europa League.

Having been excluded from Erik ten Hag’s plans, Bailly was sent out on loan to Marseille last season. With no place in the squad for this campaign, Bailly was omitted from United’s first four Premier League fixtures and now departs on a short-term deal to the Turkish side. Bailly’s exit is part of a summer of significant departures at United, which has seen David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Alex Telles, and Phil Jones also leave the club as Ten Hag continues to overhaul his squad.

United Still Seeking Van de Beek Exit

Despite the closure of most European transfer windows, Manchester United are still keen to offload Donny van de Beek. The Dutch midfielder has found himself out of favour under Erik ten Hag and was widely expected to leave the club during the summer window. However, no move materialised, and Van de Beek remains part of United’s roster. According to ESPN, the club is still hopeful of securing a deal for the out-of-favour midfielder, with the transfer windows in Turkey and Saudi Arabia still open. The Red Devils are looking to receive offers for Van de Beek by the Turkish deadline on September 15 and the Saudi deadline on September 7, as they continue to streamline their squad for the current season.
