Manchester United have reportedly had a bid rejected for one of their top summer targets.

According to a report from Sky Sports News, The Red Devils have had a £40 million bid rejected for young Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 21-year-old burst onto the scene in 2018-19 with the Eagles and has been identified as a main target in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man United rebuild. However, The Eagles won’t sell their star playmaker for cheap.

Several reports have indicated Palace reportedly want at least £60m for the England youth international, With that in mind, Manchester United should submit another bid quite soon. Other top sides are looking at the the right-back as well, and United do not want to lose him. Especially considering how thin the team’s depth at right-back is.

Manchester United REALLY needs someone like Wan-Bissaka

Following the departure of Antonio Valencia, United’s best alternative for the right-back position right now is Diogo Dalot. Ashley Young is another alternative, but we all remember what happened during the UEFA Champions League tie against FC Barcelona. Needless to say, Wan-Bissaka would be a substantial upgrade over both players.

The Red Devils must bid higher if they want to land the 21-year-old. Will they take a risk and go all out for the England international? Or will they adopt a passive stance once again, as it has been the trend in recent years?

Only time will tell what United will do. But if they REALLY want Wan-Bissaka, then they need to be more aggressive. Especially considering how other teams are also looking at the Palace star.
