Bayindir Goes On Loan To Celta
Manchester United have agreed a loan deal with Celta Vigo for Altay Bayindir, with the Turkish goalkeeper expected to travel to Spain once the remaining paperwork is completed. Spanish journalist Alberto Bravo reported that negotiations between United, Celta and Bayindir’s representatives had progressed smoothly, with the clubs preparing to exchange the necessary documentation before the goalkeeper makes the move to Vigo. Bayindir’s departure is hardly surprising given his position in Michael Carrick’s squad. The 28-year-old has struggled to find regular opportunities since arriving at Old Trafford, and United’s summer recruitment has pushed him further down the pecking order.
Karl Darlow has been brought in to serve as Carrick’s second-choice goalkeeper, while Senne Lammens remains the undisputed starter. With Bayindir therefore unlikely to see meaningful minutes, a move away represents the most sensible outcome for all parties. His United contract runs until 2027 and includes a further one-year option, although Bravo reports that the club are unlikely to activate it. That leaves open the possibility of Bayindir’s loan becoming permanent if he impresses during his time in Spain and Celta decide to pursue a permanent agreement. United would have preferred to sell him outright. Reports from Chris Wheeler confirmed Celta’s interest while stressing that the agreement had not initially been finalised, while Samuel Luckhurst claimed another club had been prepared to make a permanent offer.
Devils Fail In Pursuit Of Ndiaye
Manchester United’s interest in Iliman Ndiaye appears unlikely to develop into a transfer, with Everton demanding a fee of around £75 million for the Senegal international and Al-Hilal currently better placed to meet both the club’s valuation and the player’s wage demands. Ndiaye has emerged as a potential target as United look to strengthen their options on the left. INEOS want Michael Carrick to have access to natural wingers, and the 26-year-old’s ability to carry the ball, beat defenders and operate in several attacking positions makes him an appealing option. His Premier League experience would also allow him to adapt quickly, but the financial demands surrounding a potential deal are proving prohibitive.
Different reports have placed Everton’s valuation between roughly £69 million and £75 million, with the Toffees under little pressure to sell given that Ndiaye still has three years remaining on his contract and no release clause. Al-Hilal’s interest further complicates matters. The Saudi club have the financial strength to compete for both the player’s signature and wages, while Aston Villa, Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham are also believed to be monitoring the situation. United’s position is further complicated by Marcus Rashford. Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the club are unlikely to pursue Ndiaye unless Rashford leaves, meaning the size and composition of Carrick’s attacking group remains dependent on what happens with the England international. For now, United have registered their interest but are not expected to match Everton’s asking price.
