The season may be over for Manchester United, the most disappointing one in decades, but the season is not over for all the Red Devils. The June international break is in full swing and certain Man United players are on duty, playing for their national sides. Here we take a look at some of the performances our players had these past few days.

Portugal In Nations League Final

Manchester United players did not win the Europa League last month, but two of them could lift the UEFA Nations League trophy, as Portugal managed to beat hosts Germany 2-1 in the first semi-final. Thanks to a second-half turnaround and goals from Conceicao and Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal overturned the deficit following Florian Wirtz’s opener, to put Portugal into the grand Sunday night final. Bruno Fernandes played full 90 minutes and was great as the left “number 8” in a 4-3-3 system. He made three key passes and had one shot off target, while Diogo Dalot sat out the entire match on the bench. Portugal will face Spain, who managed to get past France in a 5-4 thriller.

Brazil Get A Point In Ecuador

Brazil did not start perfectly under Carlo Ancelotti with their 0-0 draw away to Ecuador, but this match has seen some Man United players in action. Casemiro played as the defensive midfielder in a 4-3-3 system for the full 90 minutes, putting in a strong shift. The Red Devil won 10 duels in this match, made six clearances and a total of five tackles, giving Brazil firmness in the centre of the park. While Antony expectedly did not get the chance, new Man United signing Matheus Cunha did. He came on for Tottenham’s Richarlison after 64 minutes of play but did not get to do much, making mere 18 touches while on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Paraguay defeated Uruguay 2-0 and Manuel Ugarte played full 90 minutes in the same role as Casemiro did for Brazil.

Eriksen Scores As Denmark Beat Northern Ireland

On Saturday, Denmark defeated Northern Ireland 2-1 in a friendly match in Copenhagen. Christian Eriksen scored the match-winning goal after 67 minutes of play, completing Denmark’s comeback. Previously Isaksen scored the equalizer in the match in which Rasmus Hojlund once more did not enjoy a good performance. Man United striker came off for Mika Biereth after 66 minutes, while Patrick Dorgu did not get his chance on the night, remaining on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.

At the same time, Turkey did manage to beat the United States 2-1, but expectedly, Altay Bayindir did not get the chance to be in goal this time either, as Eyupspor’s Berke Ozer stood in that place.

More performances from Man United players on international duty are expected in the coming days. Tonight, Portugal will face Spain in the UEFA Nations League final, while next week will give us more in other competitions. Denmark will face Lithuania as Dorgu, Eriksen and Hojlund could be back in action, while on Wednesday, we could see Ugarte for Uruguay against Venezuela, Bayindir for Turkey against Mexico, and Antony, Casemiro and Cunha for Brazil against Paraguay.
