Spurs Eyeing McTominay as United Midfielder Impresses

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping a close watch on Scott McTominay’s situation at Manchester United, as the midfielder continues to deliver standout performances this season. The Scotland international has emerged as one of the most surprising goal contributors in the squad, outshining many of United’s forwards. McTominay currently ranks second on United’s top goalscorer list, with nine goals to his name, trailing only behind Rasmus Højlund. His impact was on full display in United’s recent clash against Liverpool, where he scored a crucial opener before providing an assist for Marcus Rashford’s equaliser in extra time, threading a perfectly timed pass to the Englishman, who slotted it past Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher. Despite his strong form, McTominay has had to adjust to a reduced role this season. While he featured regularly during Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo’s injury absences, he has found himself competing for playing time with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Sofyan Amrabat, and Mason Mount since their return to the squad.

According to Fraser Fletcher, speaking to MufcMPB, Spurs have been monitoring McTominay’s situation closely, and there is potential for a move in the near future. West Ham United may also renew their interest after seeing a £30 million bid for the midfielder rejected last summer. At that time, United reportedly valued McTominay at closer to £45 million, and given his prolific scoring form this season, his price tag could have risen further. With United’s new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, believed to be open to the idea of offloading the 27-year-old, the door may be open for McTominay to make a switch to Spurs or elsewhere in the Premier League.

Lindelöf Uncertain About Saudi Arabia Move

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelöf has addressed speculation linking him with a potential move to Saudi Arabia, stating that he isn’t ready for such a transfer at this stage of his career. As United prepare for a summer overhaul under the leadership of Ineos Sports group, Lindelöf is among several players whose futures at Old Trafford remain uncertain. United’s defensive frailties have been a key area of concern this season, and fans are anticipating significant changes in the squad as the club looks to strengthen its backline. Lindelöf, who has been a versatile option for manager Erik ten Hag, covering both centre-back and left-back roles during the team’s injury crisis, may find himself facing competition for a place in the squad next season. With Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire potentially on their way out, United are expected to target new defensive signings, while also seeking cover for Lisandro Martínez.

United triggered the extension on Lindelöf’s contract, ensuring he remains at the club until 2025, but reports suggest the club could still look to sell the Swedish international at the end of the season. Since joining United from Benfica in 2017, Lindelöf has made over 250 appearances for the Red Devils. While Saudi clubs have shown interest in signing the 29-year-old, Lindelöf has made it clear that he still sees his future in Europe, where he believes the competitive level of football remains much higher. For now, the Sweden captain remains focused on his role at United, but his long-term future at Old Trafford remains in the balance.
