Pogba Staying, Pereira Leaves On Loan And Maguire Praises

Pogba To Lead Man United This Season

Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United this summer. That is the headline The Telegraph have published today, claiming that it was confirmed by the club – the Frenchman will not be sold before the end of August, when the transfer window ends in the rest of Europe. One of the reasons for that is that he is instrumental for this Man United team and how they are expected to play under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The other one is that Man United are light on options in midfield even with Pogba in the squad and losing him this summer would mean no new signings for the Devils, in order to replace him.

Of course, that would be more than a disaster, if he was sold this August, and of course that the club will not let that happen. This way, it finally came an end to the whole ‘Pogba leaving’ saga. The player himself confirmed at the beginning of the summer that it might be for the best if him and Man United found some new challenges, unequivocally confirming his wish to make a move to another club. Real Madrid seemed to be close to getting him at one point this summer, but the move never materialized, for number of reasons.

Man United wanted a huge transfer fee, which would make them a nice return on the investment they have made in 2016. But Real Madrid did not finish some other business before that, in order to raise the money and in the end, Zinedine Zidane did not get his compatriot to move to Spain. Now, his full focus on the season with the Devils is a must, as Pogba can finally prove to everyone what kind of a player he is when completely committed to a cause.

Maguire Praises Everywhere

Harry Maguire has been praised by many pundits and former footballers in these couple of days, following his Manchester United debut. His strong performance even created a reaction by Jonny Evans, his former team-mate at Leicester City. Former Man United centre-back said that Maguire possesses the explosive pace that people do not see. Evans also said that Maguire is tailor-made for the Devils, insisting that he will do well at Old Trafford. His debut performance – although not as eye-catchy as Wan-Bissaka’s or Dan James’ – was a very encouraging one and him and Victor Lindelöf will be expected to only keep improving as the cente-back pairing.

Joel Pereira Goes On Another Loan

Joel Pereira has left Manchester United and moved on another loan. He will spent the 2019-20 season in Scotland, as a goalkeeper for Hearts. The Portuguese keeper got another move outside of the club, his fifth since joining Man United. First he was loaned to Rochdale, then Belenenses and Vitoria Setubal in Portugal. The second half of last season he spent at Kortrijk, in Belgium, and now it is a turn on Scotland. This was an expected move for Pereira, as he had no chances of getting play time next to David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
