Galatasaray’s Low Offer for McTominay

Recent reports from Turkey reveal that Galatasaray have made an initial offer to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay. This bid, valued at approximately €15 million, falls significantly short of McTominay’s actual worth, which is considered to be over £30 million. McTominay, who contributed positively with 43 appearances and 10 goals last season, is a player of considerable value for United, particularly as they look to bolster their squad with new signings.

The Turkish Super Lig side, managed by Okan Buruk, is reportedly keen on acquiring McTominay but is facing resistance from United, who are unlikely to accept such a low offer. Turkish journalist Ali Naci Kucuk, speaking to Raydo Gol (via Sport Witness), suggests that Galatasaray might adopt a patient approach, hoping that United will lower their asking price as the transfer window progresses. This strategy, however, may not align with United’s current plans, as they are also waiting for a more substantial offer from another club, potentially within the Premier League.

In contrast to Galatasaray’s modest bid, Fulham are preparing to make a significantly improved offer for McTominay. According to Sky Sports, Fulham had an initial bid of £17 million for McTominay rejected earlier this month. The Cottagers are now expected to submit a more competitive proposal once they have finalised the signing of Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe. This potential deal could see Fulham offer an overall package that exceeds £30 million for McTominay, reflecting his value and contribution to United last season. As United continue to seek the right buyer, they are also focused on securing a defensive midfielder and potentially other new additions to strengthen their squad.

Greek Giants Eye Pellistri

Facundo Pellistri’s future at Manchester United is under scrutiny following his loan spell with Granada. The 22-year-old winger, who has struggled to secure a consistent place in United’s first team, may benefit from gaining further experience away from Old Trafford. With United’s recent injury crisis highlighting the need for squad depth, allowing Pellistri to leave on loan or transfer could provide him with the first-team opportunities he requires.

Pellistri, now an established Uruguay international with 26 caps, is being actively pursued by Panathinaikos. According to Sportime journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, Panathinaikos are keen on bringing the young winger to Greece. This move would present Pellistri with a new challenge, as he has previously played in his native Uruguay, Spain, and England. The Greek Super League side’s interest indicates a potential opportunity for Pellistri to showcase his talents in a different competitive environment.

The precise details of the transfer fee and terms remain to be seen, as discussions between United and Panathinaikos are ongoing. Pellistri’s departure would also reflect United’s strategy of focusing on players who can contribute significantly to the squad, aligning with their broader goals for the upcoming season. As United continues to evaluate their options, the potential move to Panathinaikos could be a beneficial step for both the club and the player.
