Amrabat Withdraws from International Duty

Sofyan Amrabat has been forced to withdraw from international duty with Morocco due to injury. The midfielder was set to feature in Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia, followed by a friendly against Burkina Faso. Fortunately for Morocco, their qualification for the tournament has already been secured, easing concerns over Amrabat’s absence.

For Manchester United, however, this adds to a growing list of injury concerns. Amrabat joins several key players, including Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Tyrell Malacia, Tom Heaton, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad Diallo, on the sidelines. United confirmed that the 27-year-old is returning to Carrington to continue his recovery, although the specific nature of his injury remains unclear. This setback is likely to delay Amrabat’s debut for the club. Fans had been hopeful he would make his first appearance against Brighton & Hove Albion when Premier League action resumes. However, the midfielder may now have to wait longer before making his long-anticipated debut.

New Allegations Against Antony

Manchester United winger Antony faces additional allegations of domestic violence and assault, with two more women coming forward after initial claims were made by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin. Cavallin’s accusations, which included claims of physical harm, threats, and psychological abuse, have ignited a police investigation. Antony has denied any wrongdoing but was sent home from international duty with Brazil due to the severity of the allegations.

The new accusations compound the controversy surrounding the player. Rayssa de Freitas, a law student, has accused Antony of attacking her and another woman, Mallu Ohana, in his car in May 2022. De Freitas claims she required hospital treatment after the incident, which took place following a night out in São Paulo. A police report was filed at the time. Ingrid Lana, another accuser, has also come forward, telling Record TV that Antony assaulted her in October last year. Despite these growing accusations, Manchester United have not yet suspended the player from club activities as the investigation continues.

Tuanzebe Joins Ipswich Town After United Release

Axel Tuanzebe has signed with Championship side Ipswich Town on a free transfer after being released by Manchester United earlier this summer. The 25-year-old defender will reunite with former United coach Kieran McKenna, who has made significant strides at Ipswich since taking charge in December 2021. McKenna led Ipswich to promotion from League One last season, and the team currently sits second in the Championship.

Tuanzebe will also link up with fellow United academy graduate Brandon Williams, who is on loan at Ipswich for the season. Having made 37 appearances for Manchester United, including 19 in the Premier League, Tuanzebe’s time at Old Trafford was marred by injuries that hampered his progress and limited his opportunities with the first team. The move to Ipswich presents a fresh start for the defender, who will be hoping to regain full fitness and secure regular playing time after years of injury setbacks.
