Conte All But Confirmed, Where That Leaves Lukaku?
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the leading experts in transfer dealings around the world, Antonio Conte will become new Inter Milan coach this summer. Luciano Spalletti maybe managed to get Nerazurri into Champions League on the final day of the season, but nevertheless, the club want to appoint former Chelsea manager to get the team forward.
And that means Romelu Lukaku is the top transfer target for Inter this summer! Mauro Icardi seems to be done at Inter and his move looks more and more realistic, Conte will want to bring in Lukaku. Conte is his big admirer and whilst he was in charge at Chelsea, he tried to sign the Belgian. In the end, he lost out to Man United, with the striker scoring 42 goals in the following two seasons.
Many media outlets reported that Inter are truly ready to go for that deal, so expect to hear more about it all in the coming days. Lukaku’s agent also revealed recently that the 26-year-old would love to play in Serie A, which make things easier for all parties.
Could De Ligt Come To Manchester?
Here is what Sid Lowe, The Guardian’s football correspondent in Spain had to say about Matthijs De Ligt potentially moving to Barcelona.
“A week ago Barcelona were very confident that De Ligt would come. They’re much less confident now. I don’t know what’s happened in the meantime but I imagine it’s an enormous truckload of cash having been driven round a house by his agent (Raiola).”
And then there were several sources, although not the most reliable, claiming Mino Raiola really wants De Ligt to sign for Man United. Could that actually happen? It still looks hard to buy. Man United are not in Champions League and they can only offer De Ligt huge wages and a potential opportunity that this side will grow in the coming years together with him. Could that be enough, though? If Barcelona are not going to sign the Dutchman, it would be safe to presume teams such as PSG could be in pole position to snap him up. However, United could get a huge momentum if they were to land such a talented player.
Giggs Not Doubting James
Ryan Giggs spoke to media ahead of Wales’ qualifying matches for Euro 2020 which are to be played in early June and part of the conversation was about Daniel James, Swansea winger who is still heavily linked with a move to Man United.
‘You don’t need to speak to me to see the quality Dan has, especially since the turn of the year,’ said Giggs. ‘The transfer breaking down with Leeds was well documented. He’s kicked on and obviously was fantastic for me in the last game. ‘When you’ve got speed like that as well as the talent he can play anywhere.’
It is clear that Man United legend has a lot faith in the youngster and he probably had a few nice words about him for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. In fact, several media still claim it is just matter of time when James will sign for Devils this summer.
