Manchester United professionally dispatched Stoke City on Monday night, continuing their recent fine form. The trip to Dubai prior to this match seemed to have had effect on United players, as they looked sharp and fresh in a 3-0 win. There was nothing negative to talk about the match, as the team did a very good job for the whole 90 minutes.

After the match, Jose Mourinho talked about the game, but also about the current affairs that are surrounding Manchester United. Alexis Sanchez is the unavoidable subject these days, and so is Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Mourinho did not want to be too specific, but he seemed to be speaking in a positive manner regarding the matter.

Alexis Is Still Arsenal Player

“I am not confident, but also not unconfident”, started Mourinho regarding Alexis Sanchez’s possible move to Old Trafford. “Just relaxed and we have the feeling that he is an Arsenal player. We have the feeling that he can stay there. But also the feeling that he can move and if he moves, I think we have a chance.”

There was a moderate optimism in Mourinho’s voice, before resuming his statement, as Chelsea were also mentioned to be sending an offer for the Chilean. Media also reported that Manchester City have pulled out of the race for Sanchez’s signature, but Mourinho did not want to talk about possibilities.

“I have no idea [what will happen] to be honest. Today I was completely separate from all of that. I was focused on my match and not worried about anything else other than the match. I’m not going to speak about hypothetical situations, he is an Arsenal player and he can be an Arsenal player”, said Mourinho.

On Tuesday, Sky Sports reported new details about the possible transfer. As the media outlet claim, if the deal between Arsenal, Manchester United and Sanchez is to actually happen, it will probably involve typical trade for Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way, without United paying extra fee.

If that is truly the case, and if that happens, this could easily prove to be a coup for the Devils. They would get Arsenal’s by far the best player of recent years and send an unfitting player with big wages the other way. Mkhitaryan maybe started the season perfectly, but ever since he did not look right for this team. After all, his five assists in three opening Premier League matches now seem ages ago.

Axel Tuanzebe Edging Closer To A Loan Move

And while all of that have been public’s most important football news for some time, Axel Tuanzebe could leave Manchester United this January. Mourinho talked about him as well, saying the player could benefit a loan move.

“Today on the bench I had Marcos Rojo and Lindelof and Bailly is still in recovery so I’m not giving the chances to Axel. So Axel is probably the only one I can leave the open door for him to go and play [elsewhere] because I believe he is a really good talent, and he needs to go and play”, said the manager.

This is not unexpected news, but it all sounded positive. Tuanzebe will improve more if he is constantly playing and the loan move makes sense. It remains to be seen if he will leave at the end and where.
