Fergie expecting Real bid for Ronaldo

Ronaldo with Fergie

Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has revealed that he fully believes Real Madrid will again come knocking for Ronaldo during the winter transfer window.

Real Madrid spent most of the summer making plans for the 'signing' of the Portuguese superstar, despite having four years left to run on his Manchester United contract. Ronaldo endured a miserable Euro 2008 and was heavily criticised for his reluctance to quash the links to the Spanish Champions.

Ferguson told a Sunday newspaper "Of course Real Madrid won't go away. I said when Gabby Heinze left the club that Madrid could resurface for Ronaldo. It is going to happen again. It will all start up again in January. But I am ready for that to happen now."
