Ex England manager slams Berbatov

Terry Venables

Former England manager, Terry Venables, has slammed Dimitar Berbatov for the manner in which he departed Tottenham Hotspurs and blames the North London's club dismal start on the attitude of the Bulgarian.

Venables, who managed Tottenham and guided them to the 1991 FA Cup final, was speaking to the Sun Newspaper when he slammed for former Spurs superstar. "Berbatov kept telling us he had 'a dream. Well, good for you Dimi. You had a dream with a few extra noughts added to your bank balance. But did Spurs have a dream too? You got your way but your poisonous presence at the start of the season - the brooding and the reluctance to play - has cost the club that believed in you." is what the ex England manager is quoted to have said.

Berbatov, who had been linked to a move all summer to Manchester United, has failed to score in his first few games although put in an impressive performance against Bolton Wanderers.
