Blackburn Rovers will travel to Old Trafford on 2nd December for the quarter final clash in the Carling Cup.
Paul Ince returns to his old stomping ground and will be sure to get large barrage of abuse following his connections with Liverpool. United fans tend to give a good welcome back to former players who are now managers - such as Bruce with Wigan and Robson with WBA - however Ince scored against United for Liverpool in 1999 and proceeded to jump into the Kop, something many Reds will never forget.
United will hope to progress to the semi-final of the Carling Cup for the first time since winning the trophy two seasons ago. United were eliminated by Southend in 2006/07 and suffered a home defeat to Coventry City last term. Ferguson will most probably use the fixture to give younger players, such as Welbeck and Gibson, a run out.
