Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was disappointed with the performance last night against Inter Milan, indicating that United 'will play better' in the future.

Nemanja Vidic and Cristiano Ronaldo gave the European and World Champions a 2-0 victory over the Serie A Champions - Internazionale. United booked their path into Friday's draw and could face one of three other English sides. May 2007 was the last time foreign opposition knocked an English side out of the tournament.

Fergie was quoted as saying:"We started very well and I thought it could be one of those nights when we are going to score a few goals. But then we started doing flicks and passing balls into space where no one was and back heels – it was practice football. Inter should have been level at half time. We played a team at its maximum potential in terms of experience and they played to their maximum. To get through that is a big plus because we will be better in the next round. We can be better. I thought it was a really difficult draw given their experience, so we are happy to get through, it was a good result for us."
