Ince to play hard on Santa Cruz

Paul Ince

New Blackburn Rovers boss and United villain Paul Ince has stated that Roque Santa Cruz will not be going to Manchester United this summer as Ince looks to make a big impact this season.

Ince replaced Mark Hughes as manager on Tuesday and during his press conference declared that he wants to keep hold all his stars in a bid for European football, which includes both Santa Cruz and David Bentley.

Santa Cruz, who signed from current German champions Bayern Munich last summer, has caught the eye of both Manchester United and Arsenal following an impressive goal return of 23 in his first season in the Premier League.

Ince, who has already been congratulated by Sir Alex Ferguson on his appointment, is going to make it very difficult for any transfer to go through. He has been quoted as saying "If he comes on asking about Santa Cruz then I'll just tell him he's not having him," he said.

Ince joins former Manchester United teams mates Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes and Roy Keane as former players that played under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford who now manage in the top flight.
