Giggs to consider retirement

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has been quoted by the Sun as saying this season could be his last as a professional footballer.
Giggs, who as well as being Manchester United's record appearance maker is the most successful player in British football history, reporrtedly said "I will keep playing as long as I enjoy it, I am fit and the manager wants me."
"If one of those three things stops, I will consider retiring. It could be at the end of this season."
He is however also quoted as saying he is "as fit as he's ever been", while his agent and long time friend Harry Swales has stated "Ryan says he can still play on for a few more years. We haven't spoken to United yet but I'm sure it will happen in due course."
Whether these are just rumours remains to be seen but if there is some truth in them then 2009 could see the end of a glittering career of one of the games greatest ever players.
