Ronaldo on Mourinho and beating Inter

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he is confident United can overcome the Serie A Champions Inter Milan in defence of the European Cup.

Ronaldo was the subject of attempted mind games from Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho who claimed that he would pick Ibrahimovic ahead of Ronaldo as the best player in the world. History between Mourinho and Ronaldo stems back to the 2006/07 season when Ronaldo claimed that Mourinho, who was Chelsea manager at the time, needed to 'take responsibility for their defeats rather than blames referees'. Mourinho responded by insulting Ronaldo's upbringing.

Ronaldo was quoted as saying "Inter are a good team with great players but we're better than them and I'm sure we'll beat them. If we beat them we'll feel like we're just one step away from the final."

Ronaldo also defended his former teammate and countryman Richardo Quaresma "Ricardo has some great qualities and it's a shame that he wasn't given the time to prove his true worth. He was great for Porto and Portugal and he can't be judged on a few matches where he hasn't been at his best. Probably the fact that he was transferred for such a large sum of money put too much pressure on him and in Italy it's not easy to do well straight away."
