Ferdinand praises Berbatov

Rio Ferdinand has praised Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov for his superb football brain and his work rate - despite many people stating the Bulgarian is lazy.
Ferdinand was speaking after the 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers:“He has a wonderful football brain, a deep knowledge of the game and a true awareness of everything that happens on the pitch. I have heard some say he is not worth the money we paid for him. That’s ridiculous. We will see him get better and better."
He went onto defend his colleagues work ethic explaining that his superb technique plays a part in his style as a football: “Berba is a fantastic footballer who is going to prove his worth to us over the years. He makes the game look easy and that tends to make people think he is not trying. But any suggestion that he is lazy is wrong"
Berbatov also commented on how playing under Sir Alex Ferguson has allowed him to express himself: “I am a relaxed guy. I play that way and I can’t change. I watch games and see guys who panic on the ball — they look so nervous. I can be calm, because I sometimes know what I want to do before the ball comes to me. The boss tells me not to change anything — he gives me freedom to express my qualities."
