United bid for Valencia star

David Silva

Manchester United have reportedly bid £20Million for the Spanish International David Silva from Valencia, which has been rejected.

The 22 year old European Championships winger had been linked to United last week but today his agent, Julio Llorente, who was quoted as saying:"United made an offer for David Silva, but this has been turned down by Valencia". He also went on to add that if Silva were to leave the Mestalla it would in favour of Barcelona or current Manchester United best friends forever Real Madrid.

His agent went on to add:"Silva doesn't want to play in England because he is happy at Valencia,". "His family are settled and if he was to move it would only be to another Spanish club, like Real Madrid or Barcelona."

Silva was an intricate part of the Spanish midfield over the summer during Euro 2008, along with former Manchester United target Senna. The Valencia man likes to play on the left or center, although throughout Euro 2008 showed his versatility by switching wings with Inesta, and prefers to be involved in the attacking half of the pitch. The bid comes days after rumours that Thierry Henry is about to join United.
