Carrick out for 2-3 weeks

Manchester United midfielder, Michael Carrick, has been ruled out for 2-3 weeks by manager Sir Alex Ferguson after injuring himself in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
Carrick, who last season made 47 appearances and scored two goals, will be a major loss for Manchester United who are already having to cope with a depleted side. Cristiano Ronaldo (injured), Nani (suspended), Park (injured), Anderson (international duty) and Hargreaves (injured) are all ruled out for the next game at Portsmouth next week - which will make Sir Alex think hard about who to include in the centre of the park with Paul Scholes.
Michael Carrick has also be removed from the England squad due to the injury and will not take part in the friendly against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.
