Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney has been in professional football for five years now. That is a frightning statistic considering that he is still only 21 years of age. You wouldn't think it when you watch him play, you could be forgiven for believing he is older than he is. At present (November 30th 2006) Wayne Rooney has scored 34 goals for United, a decent record considering he is either played as a second striker or as a wide forward in a 4-3-3.
He is an exciting player to watch and for this reason he has become a fans favourite at the theatre of dreams. Wonder goals like the one against Newcastle or the two goals against Middlesborough in the FA cup.
He has been voted the stretford-end.com player of the month because of his excellently taken goals against Sheffield United and his contribution to the team in all games. He also has a number of assists to his name.
