Stretford End says:
Chelsea have signed Deco, Bosingwa and held onto Lampard
Arsenal have signed Ramsey and Nasri, whilst holding on to Adebayor
Are you happy with our transfer dealings so far? To be honest i'm not too concerned. Fergie reiterated the fact that we strengthen a lot last summer and look to push forward with the squad we have. I can't see where else we will need players. Maybe cover for up top if Rooney or Tevez get injured - but really, do we need to sign anyone?
I'm anticipating how Chelsea will line up this season. Ballack, Deco and Lampard in the same team? Ballack will be ok, but I can't see how Deco and Lampard can. They will want to occupy the same space in the final third. Inesta did also but he was sometimes played on the right wing.
Yolkie says:
We need a striker, Manucho is apparently injured and in any case is unproven, we need another defender cos Silvestre is getting worse and we lost Pique.
As for the other teams, well, Arsenal have lost major players but I expect them to not suffer dramatically - someone else can water carry like Flamini did and Walcott's progress should more or less take over Hleb.
Chelsea, well, they can add £20m players in every position, we only have to play them twice a season, as long as we do our job in the other 36 games those two shouldn't matter.
United in Red says:
I think that we need a striker. In all honesty we were never going to spend the amount of money that we did last summer, although i did think that Fergie might have brought in two players, but he's said that he wants to sign only one player.
When you look at it, spending a combined £60 million on Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves last year, we were never going to spend another £60 million this season.
I think that eventually we'll get Berbatov. Transfer dealings with Spurs tend to go on forever (and Carrick's transfer is a good example of this). Tottenham need a few quid and Berbatov wants to play Champions League football, so i think it will happen.
