Cristiano Ronaldo could make Manchester United return

February 14, 2010

Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he could return to Old Trafford one day after leaving the club last summer for Real Madrid. Ronaldo, who was the 2008 World Player of the Year, spent six seasons at Old Trafford, winning the Premier League three times as well as the Champions League in 2008. The Portuguese star has scored eleven goals in thirteen games so far in La Liga – even though he has missed a couple of months with an injury.

Wayne Rooney denies transfer talk

Wayne Rooney
With the doom and gloom of the financial crisis and unethical ownership of Manchester United being the main talking points at the moment, its great to finally receive some good news – Wayne Rooney commits himself to Manchester United long term. There was talk that the Premier League top goal scorer would pack his bags and join Ronaldo in sunny Spain to help fund the Glazer debt, however Rooney has stated he ‘is a United player and is happy here’.

Sheringham: United miss Tevez

January 14, 2010

Carlos Tevez

Barcelona hero Teddy Sheringham has revealed that Manchester United are obviously missing the skill, power and goals of Cristiano Ronaldo – but – are also missing the presence of Carlos Tevez, who moved to Manchester City in July. So, are we missing the drive, movement and workrate of the Argentinian forward?

Federico Macheda on his way to Bologna on loan?

January 7, 2010

Federico Macheda

Our young forward Federico Macheda is being linked with a loan move to Serie A strugglers Bologna, although the Italian’s agent believes the move is ‘unlikely to happen’. Federico Macheda is yet to find the net in his five appearances so far this season and a loan move to his motherland may prove invaluable experience to a very talent youngster. Stretford-end.com believe that Macheda could well become one of the top strikers in the Premier League in five years time.

Is Dimitar Berbatov running out of time?

January 5, 2010

Berbatov

There is no doubt that Dimitar Berbatov is a fine footballer who is capable of genius at times.  However, there is no doubt that there is an element of frustration around Old Trafford when Bulgaria’s top  goalscorer ever gets into a strop and throws his hands up in the air.  His hefty price tag hasn’t helped, considering we would have got him for around £10 million less had Manchester City not come in for him – but I think we’d all agree that we all gawped at the £30.75 million fee was a tad too much.  This blog looks at his movement, passes and goals against former United strikers.

Can you see Di Maria at Old Trafford?

December 28, 2009

Angel Di Maria

There has been a lot of talk over the last few days that Luis Nani has been included within a transfer deal to Benfica for the purchase of the talented winger Angel Di Maria and I for one would welcome the transfer of the young Argentinian. Nani has continued to frustrate since he signed from Sporting Lisbon two and a half years ago, whilst his comments suggesting that he was ‘mis-managed’ by Sir Alex Ferguson surely can’t have gone down well with the manager. I think Nani’s time is up at Old Trafford and I would welcome the winger who Maradona described as ‘the next Argentinian superstar’ to Manchester.

The Tosic/Ljajic saga continues

December 11, 2009

Adem Ljajic

We’ve heard it all from ‘being skint’ to ‘work permits’ to ’slow progress’ in our pursuit of talented Partizan Belgrade starlet Adem Ljajic. Mike Phelan recently revealed that United’s attempt to sign the player broke down due to paperwork implications. However, today a new twist emerged that Manchester United had been paying the player since the deal was announced in January. The progress of Tosic is also worrying considering the £7Million man hasn’t yet started a senior games for United.

Fergie denies any interest in over the hill defender

Sol Campbell

The ridiculous rumour linking Manchester United with former Tottenham, Arsenal, Portsmouth and, ahem, Notts County defender Sol Campbell was finally quashed today by Sir Alex Ferguson who claimed he had ‘no idea’ where the story came from.  United’s recent defensive injury crisis would have started the rumour mill but could a player that was playing League two football earlier in the season step up to playing top European Football?  No way.

You’re better off turning your back on United…

November 11, 2009

Carlos Tevez

….apparently! I wanted to blog about this on Sunday night after the Chelsea game but I was far too depressed considering we hammered them for large parts of the game, but I read an article (if you can call it that) in the News Of The World (the wife buys it) regarding Rooney’s ‘potential transfer to Barcelona’. That garbage isn’t the important part – they profiled eight players who have left Old Trafford and assessed whether or not they were a ‘hit’ or a ‘miss’ at their new club. Please feel free to add your own!
