United Set Price Tag for Van de Beek
Manchester United have placed a £25 million price tag on Donny van de Beek as Real Sociedad continue to show interest in the Dutch midfielder. Van de Beek, who joined United in 2020 from Ajax for around £35 million, has struggled to cement a regular starting spot at Old Trafford under multiple managers. His future now appears uncertain, with the player’s days at the club seemingly numbered. Since his move, Van de Beek has found it difficult to secure consistent game time, a situation made worse by the arrival of Mason Mount this summer, pushing him further down Erik ten Hag’s pecking order. With United also reportedly interested in Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, it seems increasingly unlikely that Van de Beek will play a significant role this season. Real Sociedad have emerged as potential suitors, although Van de Beek’s wage demands could complicate any deal. According to the Daily Mail, United are seeking £25 million for the Dutchman, a price that may prove ambitious given his injury struggles last season. Should he seek an exit, Van de Beek will likely have to adjust his salary expectations to facilitate a move.
United Consider Bayern Midfielder
Manchester United remain active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their midfield options following Mason Mount’s arrival earlier this summer. Mount’s move from Chelsea marked a significant acquisition for Erik ten Hag’s side, but the manager is still eyeing further reinforcements to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign. Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but should that transfer fall through, Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka is seen as a potential alternative. According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, United are considering a move for Goretzka, who is reportedly out of favour under Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel. The German international could be made available as Bayern look to fund further summer acquisitions, including their ongoing pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
Amad to Stay at United After Injury Blow
Amad Diallo’s hopes of securing a loan move away from Manchester United have been dashed by a knee injury that will keep him out for the start of the season. The 21-year-old winger missed United’s 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund after sustaining the injury during pre-season. Initial assessments have since confirmed that Amad will be sidelined for the opening part of the 2023/24 campaign, ruling out any immediate loan transfer. Prior to his setback, Amad had been attracting interest from several Serie A clubs, with United open to a loan deal. However, according to The Athletic, the injury now means he is expected to remain at Old Trafford until at least January. Amad had gone on United’s pre-season tour following a standout loan spell at Sunderland, where he helped the Championship side reach the play-offs. Upon his return to United, the Ivorian was aiming to secure regular first-team football under Erik ten Hag, but his injury will delay those ambitions until later in the season.
