Man United News: Duo Fly To Dubai, Werner Links And More

Manchester United have done well to stop Liverpool’s seven-and-a-half months long Premier League match-winning streak, as they drew 1-1 at Old Trafford. Now the team is setting sights back on Europa League, as they will travel to Belgrade, to play FK Partizan.

The Serbian side has as many points in the competition this season as Man United – four. Therefore, this match will be very interesting from that perspective too, as the Devils will have the opportunity to get top of the group with an away win.

But before we completely turn our attention to the Thursday match, here are some interesting news this Tuesday.

Matic And Show Leave For Dubai

Manchester United will be without two players for that match against Partizan, as Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic are having injury problems. That is why the club are sending the two players to Dubai, as they look to step up their rehab process from those injuries.

They will be going to a warm-weather training program, similarly to Paul Pogba’s recent one. The Frenchman spent much of the recent October international break in Dubai working on his fitness. Now Matic and Shaw will do something along the same lines. The Englishman has mad just three appearances for United this season, after his hamstring injury has made him miss the big chunk of the season so far.

Matic, on the other hand, has not played much due to not being in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, but his last match for United came exactly in Europa League, against AZ Alkmaar. Since then, he missed the two games and Solskjaer confirmed that he previously played with injury problems, but that now he is unable to do so anymore.

Could United Sign Timo Werner?

The latest transfer rumour about Manchester United is that the club remain interested in signing a new striker. Reports are suggesting that Soslkjaer is now looking towards Bundesliga, as the one player United are now being linked is Timo Werner.

After so many names mentioned with the Devils, from all over the world, now Werner is the one in this conversation. Mario Mandzukic was recently very close to signing, at least according to some media, while those less realistic even mentioned Edinson Cavani (although that would make great sense for United, it was never a real possibility).

The Express are reporting that RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is the latest target, but this one feels entirely unrealistic. Werner signed new deal with Leipzig just a couple of months ago and it now runs until June 2023. At best, United could sign him next summer, but even that is unrealistic.

Werner was on the verge of moving to Bayern and then when he entered the last year of his contract, it was mentioned he will run it down to move to Munich without a transfer fee. Even after signing new deal, Bayern are still prime candidates to land him, therefore leaving no realistic chances for Man United in such a race.

The Club Ban The Fan

Manchester United have identified and banned ‘indefinitely’ the fan who is alleged to have racially abused Trent Alexander-Arnold on Sunday match against Liverpool. According to The Mail, Man United made a statement in which they highlighted that this individual is not welcome at Old Trafford, as the club want to reinforce they will continue to take strong action against racism and discriminatory abuse.

It is also pointed out that the individual can appeal if they wish so.
