Devils On International Duty And Injury Updates

Daniel James Shines For Wales

Daniel James is on fire! We know that the famous song had many iterations, but this one is completely fitting – the Welsh winger is doing some amazing things this season. His great form at Man United, when he scored three goals in the opening four matches of the campaign, continued for the national team of Wales. James scored the match-winning goal against Belarus in an international friendly match.

Wales were given a “day off”, as their qualifying group has only five teams, and they took it to play against Belarus. Ryan Giggs’ team won 1-0 and James scored the only goal. And it was almost identical to the goals he had scored for Man United.

James took the ball on the furthest corner of the box, on the left side of the pitch and he moved the ball slightly inside, making the space for himself to shoot with his right in the bottom far corner of the opposition’s goal. It was a beautiful goal that he seems to be scoring with ease. Hopefully he will only continue getting better.

Scott McTominay Has A Tough Night Against Belgium

On the other hand, Scott McTominay did not enjoy his match against Belgium. He met Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian’s departure from Man United, but it was the striker that had more success. Not only has he scored the opener after just nine minutes, but Belgium also won the match in Scotland easily, 4-0. This has made the situation for Scotland even worse.

They have just six points from six matches in their qualifying group and they will quite obviously not qualify from their group to EURO 2020. Belgium have 18 and Russia have 15 points, therefore these two will be the ones qualifying. However, McTominay and Scotland will get another chance, as they are guaranteed a place in the play-offs due to winning their Nations League group last year.

Dalot Finishes Hip Treatment

Man United right-back Diogo Dalot has received his treatment at Shanghai SIPG for a hip injury. Dalot sustained the injury during pre-season and he visited Eduardo Santos. He is a sports injury expert in Shanghai and he has been dubbed a “miracle-working physiotherapist” France, after he helped David Luiz recover from an injury when he played at PSG.

Dalot had left Manchester on 29 August for 10 days of treatment, the Chinese Super League club confirmed.

Bailly Hopeful Of Early Return

Some more good news for Man United fans. According to Metro, Eric Bailly is hoping for an early return to the team, after his pre-season knee injury. After damaging ligaments against Tottenham all the way back in July, he underwent a surgery which went perfectly. Initial thoughts were that the player will be out of action until the end of 2019, but now there is optimism that the player will be ready before that.

ESPN FC are reporting that the player is doing really well in his recovery and that he hopes he will be back training in two months. That would mean that instead of missing the remainder of 2019, Bailly would be back in full training in November. That would definitely help the Devils!
