Which Manchester United Players Will See Action On International Duty This Upcoming Week?

Seven Manchester United players will see action on international duty during the upcoming days. Between European Qualifiers, friendly matches and the upcoming Copa America, several Red Devils will take the pitch representing their respective countries.

Here’s the full list of Manchester United players seeing international action in the coming days.

Romelu Lukaku

Belgium’s all-time top scorer has been named in Roberto Martinez’s squad for the upcoming two 2020 European Championship Qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Scotland to Brussels on 8 and 11 June respectively. Both games belong to Group I, where Belgium already made a perfect start to their campaign. Former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has also been included on the squad.

Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean winger will try to leave a poor season at club level behind him when playing for La Roja, the reigning champions of the tournament. Sanchez is the all-time top scorer in the Chilean squad, and the side will warm up before the tournament playing a friendly match against Haiti on home soil. However, Alexis might not play since he’s currently nursing an ankle injury.

Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford

Both forwards feature on Gareth Southgate’s squad for the UEFA Nations League final round in Portugal. The Three Lions will first play against the Netherlands in Guimarães on 6 June in the semi-final round. Then, England will either face Switzerland or Portugal on June 9. That second match can either the third-place match or the final. Everything will depend on what happens against the Oranje side.

Paul Pogba

France will play three matches in the upcoming days, and Paul Pogba is part of Didier Deschamps’ squad. The reigning World Champions will first play against Bolivia on June 2, and later they’ll take on two minor sides such as Turkey and Andorra in the European Championship Qualifiers.

David De Gea

The Spanish shot-stopper might leave The Red Devils soon, but first he’ll defend La Roja’s goal in Group F of the 2020 European Championship Qualifiers. Spain will first take on Faroe Islands on the road (June 7) and then will host Sweden in Madrid four days later.

Scott McTominay

The talented defensive midfielder has seven caps with the Scottish side, and will look to bolster that tally in the upcoming European Championship Qualifiers. United’s April Player of the Month takes part on Steve Clarke’s squad for two complicated fixtures against Cyprus and Belgium. On the latter match he might face another United player, as Lukaku will likely play on Belgium’s squad.
