Could Jan Oblak Come To Manchester United?
Some really interesting news broke out on Monday regarding Manchester United, at least indirectly. Jan Oblak wants to leave this summer following broken promises over his future, according to ESPN. They also add that Oblak is a boyhood Man United fan and favours a move to Old Trafford.
It was an unexpected piece of information, coming out of the blue, since Oblak’s position at Atletico Madrid was mostly seen as very firm. He has a contract until June 2023 and his last contract extension came this April. However, that might not be enough to keep him at the club, as Atleti have lost some big names in recent transfer windows – Diego Godin and Lucas Hernandez most notably – and they are also expected to sell Antoine Griezmann. In such circumstances, it could be a real possibility for Oblak to want a move out.
Whether that means United could actually sign him is a big question, but if there is a chance, they should go for him. He is overall a better goalkeeper than David De Gea and has been for the past few years, as his performances at Atletico have been spectacular week in week out.
What About Wan-Bissaka?
It was reported last week that Manchester United have made a bid for Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but it was swiftly rejected. Today Sky Sports report that the Devils are ready to offer £50m for the Englishman. The reported rejected offer was £40m and another £10m could make Palace think twice. If they reject this offer as well, it would not be unrealistic to see United go for some other solutions. Offering more than £50m for a player with a single season in Premier League under his belt would be too big of a risk.
Ben Davies Talks Up New Man United Player
We have been talking about Daniel James a lot recently and what he could bring to Man United. This time, it is Ben Davies that is talking about his fellow Wales teammate.
“Dan is a top player and he is around top players in this squad. There is no chance these boys will let him change. He is a really grounded kid and we are delighted for him as a group that he has got this move.”
It has been noted even on social media – with some interesting video clips – that James is a truly regular, humble guy, who works hard every day on improving himself. Sounds like something Man United will need.
Van de Beek Could Arrive To Premier League
Donny van de Beek has been sensational for Ajax this season and the midfielder could be making a move to Premier League this summer. At least, that is what De Telegraaf’s journalist Marcel van der Kraan believes.
“Van de Beek has his eyes set on the Premier League. He is a proper Premier League player with an Ajax education. He wants a move to Manchester United or Tottenham and his agent says if that materialises that would be right up his street.”
