Manchester United are ready. PSG is now in the past and it is time to turn the focus back on Premier League. A big clash will be on cards, as the Devils are travelling to North London. Opponents are Arsenal and after their shocking 3-1 loss to Rennes in Europa League, they will be in a bad mood and with a day less to prepare for the match. Still, we could be in for another spectacle.
Lukaku’s Fourth Brace
Yes, we would like to see another brace from Romelu Lukaku. After three consecutive braces in the past three matches, some may say we are a bit greedy on this one, but just think about. Cristiano Ronaldo did it in 2006 and it would be an amazing homage to something we have not seen at United for the past 13 years. Especially at a time when Lukaku was heavily criticized for supposedly being overweight, heaving a rough first touch on the ball and many other things.
It would be nice for the often underappreciated Belgian to get in the spotlight once again.
Reaching Tottenham
And then, if Man United would have Lukaku to score twice, they could be very close to winning the match altogether. That is always the goal. But the win against Arsenal would see United get level on points with Tottenham Hotspur, their North London rivals. It would be an unprecedented comeback, as the Devils were 11 points off fourth and less than three months later, they could go level with the team in third.
After another Tottenham loss, this time to Southampton, Man United have a great chance to make both sides of North London feel bad.
Matic And Martial Back On The Pitch
Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial are back in contention for this match. The duo have travelled to London and will probably take part in this match in some way. They might start or they might be on the bench when the match kicks off, but nevertheless, it would be great to see them back.
United managed to get past some tough opponents, to make a turnaround against Southampton and then knock PSG out of Champions League. Now, this boost could be a great thing for a somewhat tired side.
The Famous 1-3 Scoreline
Manchester United won their last two matches at the Emirates and both were won by 3-1 for the visiting side. The last time, it happened this January in FA Cup fourth round. Man United were clinical throughout and it never looked like Arsenal could win the match.
The one before that came in December 2017, when David De Gea tied the Premier League record for most saves in a single match. It was a performance that still haunts Gunners. Let’s keep it that way.
Keep The London Run Going
Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over Man United as caretaker manager, he won all matches he played in London. There were wins against Arsenal and Tottenham, Fulham and Chelsea, and then at last, they also won against Crystal Palace. Now it is Arsenal once more and another London victory would be icing on the cake.
