Manchester United announce Champions League squad

On behalf of the team at Stretford-End.com, I would like to extend my congratulations to the players who made Manchester United’s squad for the Champions League group stage. The major exclusion from the squad are long-term absentee Owen Hargreaves. Should Sir Alex decide to use Hargreaves later, he may add him to his squad ahead of the knockout rounds. And now, I am proud to bring you United’s squad for the 2010/11 Champions League group stage…

  1. No surprise for either. Hargreaves is broken still and Bebe’s clearly not meant to be exposed to those sorts of games yet.

  2. Too much is being made of Bebe. The B list can be added to at ANY time with players who meet b list criteria. Bebe does so can still be added at any time. On Hargreaves that’s more surprising as we don’t have a full compliment of players so he could have been added.

Mind you perhaps there’s a rule I’m missing and Hargreaves spot is being left for when he proves fitness or maybe if someone like diouf gets recalled early

  3. Bebe is indeed in the squad. United are saying UEFA got it wrong. It has been fixed.

Also, I was a bit confused why De Laet was excluded myself, but he is definitely not part of the squad.
