Vidic to miss Inter Milan tie
Serbian and Manchester United defender, Nemanja Vidic, will miss the first leg clash between United and Inter due to being sent off in the World Club Championship final.
Vidic was sent off for a stray elbow and manager Sir Alex Ferguson will be disappointed that Vidic will be unavaliable for the clash in February as United try to become the first side to retain the Champions League trophy. United face a tricky away tie in the San Siro and Ferguson will be annoyed that Vidic got involved in such an innocent tussle.
Ferguson was quoted as saying "I'm disappointed because we were in a comfortable position at the time. Vidic is disappointed in himself. He [Vidic] swung an elbow right in front of the referee and if you do that you have no chance. The referee was absolutely correct."
