Hi Guys..My name is Sujay.. 26yrs old. Living in United States. I have completed my bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications. Working for a giant corporation here in US.. Apple fan and a Red Devil since 1996.
Ryan Giggs is my all time favorite player closely followed by Eric Cantona.. Overall favs include.. Giggs, Cantona,Roberto Carlos,Ronaldinho.
Huge fan of the Spanish football team.
Like Real Madrid to some extent, especially when they are not poaching our stars.
Best goal ever was Giggs scoring the classic one against Arsenal in the 99 FA Semis..
Played a lot of football during my univ days.. I used to be a defensive midfield player. Got injured and hurt my knee pretty bad and that was the end of my running days
Hate: Liverpool and everything associated with it. Barca and their attitude of "Holier Than Thou".
Alright.. That's enough for an into..Looking forward to be a part of this forum and contribute to the discussion.
Oh yeah.. I will be catching Man Utd in action against Philadelphia Union on 21st. Plan to take 2 camera's .. Will post photos. |

No not at all but its getting there slowly but surely. It really also depends on where you are in the country.....in the north west Seattle area they are nuts for it but then i am in South Carolina if you ask someone typical replie is who's that....maybe exaggerating a little bit...... the furture is looking bright though, loads of kids play it but little league (baseball) dominates unfortunately.give it 10 -15 years and i think it will be pretty big here. _________________ Twitter = http://twitter.com/davidthealien |

US national football team progress is visible. They really deserve respect in recent years. And I think in 10-15 years we'll see some great results from them.
P.S.
Don't take offend but for me I do not understand baseball and find nothing interesting in it as well as in US football (bowl?). I like rugby and cricket more. _________________ be yourself |

i completely agree, i was born in Scotland, lived in England, mopved here oh about 12 or so years ago. American football, baseball are huge over here very well supported. Even at college level especially college football wow ....
Itr is getting there though, a lot more folks going to games the whole nation gets behind the national team during world cup but it fades shortly thereafter unfortunately. MLS (Major League Soccer) i think is crap compared to leagues in europe, but it is getting or has gotten a lot better over the years. Thye keep adding teams to the league which is welcomed really well in their respective areas. The Country is so big that it definately is going to take time. To me like i said i think 10-15 years is a good estimate and if they can host world cup again in the near future will only boost popularity. _________________ Twitter = http://twitter.com/davidthealien |

Football is gaining popularity in US but it will take another 10 years to become a mainstream sport.
I come from India and been staying in the States for quite sometime. Hence the fanaticism, I would say.
Back home, Cricket is much popular sport followed by Hockey and Tennis. Football is more restricted to few states and the younger generation follows a lot of club football. Everyone supports Barca, just because they are winning a lot.
In US, i see a lot of games that are derived from popular sports and people like it.
NASCAR.. well it's just going round and round a close arena for 500laps.. F1 is way cooler, but US did not like it.
American Football(football as they call it).. More of Rugby.. few changes.
Baseball.. Well that's just a boring game.. 6 hrs at times.
Another problem is they don't have stars playing here.
Russia has some fine players but the league has no money. Brazil has no starts but great upcoming talent.
US has no upcoming talent, no starts. Most of the players are from European teams in the twilight of their career. Well, they are doing their bit to make the game popular but US kids need to step up and build the game.
